How much does a trip to the Maldives cost: difference between high and low season

Just like any type of holiday, the travel and stay price affects the period, that is, if it is low and high season. First of all, therefore, it is good to understand when the stay is more expensive and when, instead, the price is more affordable for everyone.

In detail, in the Maldives we speak of high season in the period from December to April, with the maximum peak for the Christmas holidays when prices reach very high figures. The same goes for March, a month particularly popular with tourists because it is optimal from a weather point of view.

From May to November we talk about the low season, with the possibility of finding stays (or directly holiday packages including every single cost) at discounted prices, thus saving on the cost of the holiday. However, there are risks to be taken into account: in these periods of the year there is a greater probability of precipitation and of finding rough seas.

How much does it cost to go to the Maldives: price based on accommodation

When you book a trip to the Maldives and you have to choose where to stay, you have two possible solutions in front of you: staying in a resort or preferring a guest house, staying in islands also inhabited by the local population.

These are two different types of holidays: if in the first case you are in contact only with tourists, since usually the resorts are located on islands owned or exclusively by them, in the second it is possible to interact with the local population, touching them. with hand uses and customs.

The cost is also different: if you spend an average of € 1,700 (low season) to € 2,600 (high season) per person for accommodation in a resort, for a guest house (equipped with all comforts) the cost is slightly lower. to € 1,000 per person (variable price depending on the structure, the period and the island chosen for the stay).
